Planning for each wedding fireworks show starts with collaboration between you and one of our professional team. You let us know your venue and date and we take it from there and look after the rest, we will create and develop a show that will both spectacular and meet any specific venue requirements, council bylaws and of course safety regulations.

There are many variables and considerations that we take into account during the process of organising and staging a Wedding Fireworks Display that you may not be aware of. These variables may affect the start or finish time of the display, what fireworks are used, location of the display and ultimately the cost. Therefore, the information detailed here should be seen as only a guide for your wedding. 

Every event and venue requires a unique focus on safety, creativity and show design. Virtually no two of our shows are the same because every venue has different variables at work.

• We ensure your venue can be suitable and has the space to present a fireworks display or if we need to explore other options like Pyrotechnics or Special Effects.

• Our team secures written permission from land owner, local councils and stake holders.
• Our team confirms any specific council bylaws related to the use of Fireworks, including firing times, notifications to local residents and neighbours and any other limitations or considerations.

How much does a Wedding Fireworks Display cost? $$

Hand on heart, we take pride in each and every display we do, every show is completely different and we promise to create something special and memorable for you given the opportunity.

As a guide most wedding fireworks display packages cost $2,500-$10,000 or more, but averages about $3,000-$5,000 depending on the duration of the show, the number of large shells or special fireworks, if the display is set to music and the number of firing stations (to set off multiple fireworks simultaneously).

Wedding Displays Each of our Fireworks Display packages are designed around you, your venue and your budget, but the sky really is the limit. We have provided wedding firework displays for as much as $30,000 to as little as $2500 over the past 10 years. We work out the best firework display we can provide for your budget.

We look after every aspect of your display, all insured, all local council approvals and notifications, worksafe, fire authority and all relevant permits are securedand this is all included in our display cost.

COVID-19 Restrictions on gatherings...

For all new bookings we guarantee that in the event your wedding can’t go ahead due to COVID-19 restrictions, you can either opt to re-schedule your booking to another date at no extra charge or opt for a full refund. Rest assured you can book with confidence with Wedding Special FX.

How long?

Regarding the duration of a Fireworks Display, there are two schools of thought on the question of how long should a fireworks display go for. 

There is a direct correlation between duration, content and budget  and it’s a matter of us finding that perfect combination for each and every display we do. For example we can stretch a particular budget of content over 12 minutes and its going to look great but will be a drawn out and longer than it needs to be whereas if we put on a display with that same content over 4 minutes it is going to be amazing and leave everyone speechless!

We will always try our best to accommodate your chosen duration of the display within your budget, however, please do be mindful that an $5000 display lasting 30 minutes would not be as spectacular as an $5000 display lasting 1 minute!!

We always prefer to put on shorter more impressive displays that really wow theaudience. We find that our clients and their guests don't want to stand outsideto watch longer displays, our suggestion is a high impact 3-4 minute show for weddings will be far more impressive and keep people's interest until the end.

What Happens If It Rains?

A very good question. Simply put - we get wet, the fireworks dont...  we watch the weather forecasts very carefully in the days running up to your wedding day and if there is any chance of rain, during the preparation of your display all the fireworks are waterproofed to ensure that the weather won’t put a damper on events!

A Professional Fireworks Display can go ahead in most weather conditions,
even conditions under which the general public would not expect a fireworks display, so don't let this overly concern you.

A display will only be cancelled if there is a risk to public safety. (PS - we’ve never had to cancel a display)

What Happens if its a day of Total Fire Ban?

Great question - If on the day of your organised wedding fireworks display a day of total fire ban is decalred by the Fire Authority -  Permits will have been applied for, there’s just no guarantee of approval, unforunetly firework displays generally in our experience do NOT get an exemption especially for rural and country locations. To be honest - if its a day of total fire ban and conditions are that bad, hot, windy and enough to declare the day a TFB, frankly speaking it just wouldnt be safe...

The CFA / Fire Authority has the FINAL decision with regard to firework displays on days of Total Fire Ban. We will do our best to get the display over the line for you with all relevant permits and liase with all stakeholders and authorities, we always in the lead up to your display keep you updated and will discuss options with you - dont let this overly worry you, in the rare circumstances that a day of total fire ban is declared and we cannot fire your display, we will explore indoor Special FX alternatives or a lower risk presentations outdoors as a compromise given the potential situation.

Please Note: A show has never been cancelled by us due to adverse weather or any other reason, apart from the direction of the CFA when a Total Fire Ban has been declared. We will always discuss with you our client a potential
problem, and will always seek an amicable cancellation decision, which would in almost every circumstance be based purely on the safety of the Audience and / or Firing Crew keeping in mind we have plenty of alternative options and SPECIAL FX if worse comes to worst.

Can I organise a Wedding Fireworks Display as a Surprise?

Best way as a surprise is typically this is fired just after speeches and guests are invited outside for a ‘surprise’ or ‘group photo’ or definitely can be coordinated with the band on the night as well.

A firework display at any wedding is in our opinion the BEST surprise to celebrate such a momentous occasion and special day, nothing even comes close. We’ll work directly with you and the venue to amaze and create a jaw-droppingly beautiful display. 

For the most romantic of gestures why not book a surprise firework display for your new husband or wife? Surprise your loved one with a glittering display. 

We have also over the years worked with Parents, Family Memebers or Friends of the Bride and Groom organised as a gift or surprise for the Bride and Groom. The ultimate surprise

Our discreet and safety conscious approach means the display will be a wonderful surprise. Most of the time we can setup a display without your guests knowing, provided the site allows we can be out of sight without anybody knowing! However keep in mind with some sites (and some sizes of displays) this is just not possible.

Location

The most important aspect of presenting a fireworks display is your display site, venue and location. Fireworks require a clear area of atleast 50 metre radius and are ideal for beach locations, piers, wineries orvenues on large properties. We will identify the constraints of your site and whats possible.

For locations or venues in or built-up areas with close by neighbours, livestock or noise restrictions we  also have the ability to present ‘Low Noise’ Fireworks Displays that have all theimpact, wow factor and excitement of their louder counterparts justquieter.Virtually no two Wedding Special FX Fireworks Displays are the same because every location and venue have differentvariables at work. 

Can the Fireworks be set off to Music?

Fireworks Displays to Music called Pyromusicals - are one of our most popular and requested Fireworks Display Packages. Wedding Special FX have the ability to interpret music with fireworks conveying the emotion, climax, highs and lows of any soundtrack perfectly timed and choreographed creating an incredible and profound union of magic, imagination and technology.

An excellent way for a couple to listen to ‘their song’ while experiencing a jaw-dropping, high impact, stunning fireworks display. Having a display designed to a track will make your day even more special and will add a new level of excitement to your wedding day, will delight your family and friends and send tingles down their spines.

Fireworks are set off beautifully with music. Your choice of music is just as important as our choice of fireworks. Choosing an obscure piece of music that’s hard to recognize could detract from the display so we always suggest to choose a very well-known piece, or a personal favourite that the majority of your guests will be familiar with. You can even give the display a theme or set it to a popular movie soundtrack. 

There is a special art to designing and firing choreographed firework. The secret is not just in selecting fireworks which reflect the pace and intensity of the music exactly, it’s also in the timing to peaks and moods throughout the soundtrack.
